Sharlee Rother Photography/ B and Wynn

Last Summer my Father in law had his 70th birthday.  It was a big blow out and a lot of family came in town from Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota.  We had a lot of fun, but I can tell you one thing... I did NOT want to be responsible for capturing photos... no way... no how... SO I called on Sharlee Rother, a local photographer and she did a fabulous job.  Last week she did mini sessions at her house for Valentines Day pics of kidos.  I took CG over there for a chance of getting at least one great pic of the boy who hates to be in front of the camera!  Look how cute they are!

We had a blast and the best part about it is that it didn't take very long at all!  This boy has no patience with photos!
Shar also asked me to make a canvas for her of her sweet babies, Beckham and Rowynn.  This is the finished product hanging in her house.  I think it is one of the sweetest ones I have done because she wanted the verses that she prayed over her children when she was pregnant with them on it.  I truly believe that these children will live into God's purpose for them because of the intentional prayers for them and their amazing parents.

Curly Q Mosaic Giveaway!

Let me be honest with you about the amazing Amy Baldwin... She truly is a natural talent.  Her mosaic work is incredible,  probably one of the best I have seen.  Her card making is inspiring and she is just a joy to be around.  I work at a store in Norman on Campus Corner and we have carried her art for years, and I have always admired it and wanted a piece of my own!  (maybe one day soon!)  She is doing a giveway on her blog for little mosaic mushrooms.  Hop on over there and follow her for your chance to win :)

For the LOVE of NOLA

Well anyone who really knows me knows my love for New Orleans.  There is a sense of home there to me and a good ol' time!  I am not talking about the normal "good ol' time" that people normally have in New Orleans (although I do like that part of it too ;)  I am talking about walking the slate sidewalks after a summer rain, exploring all of the old buildings,  the street performers, the amazing antique shops, magazine street, getting lost in the french quarter after your beignets and cafe au lait in the morning at Cafe Du Monde.  I seriously have a love affair with the Crescent City.  One thing that keeps me from missing it too much is Fleurty Girl, Lauren Thom.  She has a great shop http://www.fleurtygirl.net/ online and has four stores in the New Orleans area.  This girl LOVES Nola and posts on Facebook photos of the wonderfulness of NOLA daily.  Follow her if you can and maybe you will fall in love with it too :)  I made her a canvas last time I went to Nola:

I recently met someone who loves NOLA.  Her name is Carla.  She loves NOLA.  Here are the canvases she had me do for her as a daily reminder of how New Orleans makes her feel.  It really does do something to you...

I have also made them for my mom and sister who heart Nola too, they have fast become my favorite canvases to make because it reminds me of the place I love.  I better make one for myself soon!
Oh and while I am at it, I think I will go make myself one of these...

Pimms Cup:
  • 2 ounces Pimm’s No. 1
  • 7UP, lemon-lime soda, or ginger ale
  • Slice of lemon
  • Slice of cucumber
Make one... you will love it.
