Valentines Giveaway!

Love is in the air!  Valentines is sometimes one of those holidays were expectations of what it "should" be is overshadowed by what it sometimes really "is".  A day of recognition of your love to your spouse, and a really bad day to try to get reservations at your favorite resteraunt!  I always find it way more fun to stay home, get take out and spend the evening with my two boys.
In honor of the holiday I want to do a giveaway to get everyone in the spirit of LOVE!  Here is what to do...
Follow my blog and comment on which one is your favorite and you could WIN!  I am giving away 2 canvases on the 27th of January so you can have it in time to decorate for Valentines Day.
Give a shout out to your fav!

Which one is perfect for YOUR house?

Spencer Elizabeth Gunn

Friend: A person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection

When I moved to Norman when I was 5 years old, this sweetest little girl came to my house in a little dress with an apple on the collar with her mom.  I was in my tom boy oshkosh jeans and hang ten sweatshirt... instant friends for life were made that day.  Lindsay and I have been friends for close to... brace yourself... 30 years!  We both have little boys who play together and now she has a sweet baby girl Spencer Elizabeth.

Lindsay had me do a canvas for Spencer's room.  It was so fun because her room has beautiful blue bedding and hot pink.

And a Princess she will be!

Family: Hofmann/Potts

One of the first canvases I did was for a friend of mine that was having her second baby girl.  I made this canvas for her as a gift to her of her two girls Addi and Halle.
They are so cute together already and they are going to have so much fun as they grow up.  Sweet sisters...  Look how cute their smiles are!

It was so nice of Erin to ask me to make a canvas for her sister in law for Christmas.  What a compliment!  She wanted one to give her that was about family, her brother and sister-in-law and about home.

It's a Wonderful Life

I always get a little sad about this time each year... a couple of days before Christmas.  I hate thinking that it is all going to be over in just a couple of days!  I know a lot of people are ready for it it be "over" but I just LOVE the Christmas music on the radio, the lights around town, and especially watching my three year old just fall in love with the magic of Christmas.  I hadn't even had one second to make any Christmas canvases, so last night I stayed up late and made a "Winter" canvas.  So much to look forward to, I can't be sad!
Merry Christmas to all!
I don't usually do a lot of "sparkle" but I guess I needed a little bit this time of year!

Oh... and then I decided to make one more
Because it truly is the most WONDERFUL time of the year!

Aly and Mike

I went to one of my best friend's baby showers and made her a canvas for her new baby girl.  While I was there, I met a really fun friend of hers who's daughter was getting married.  She wanted me to make a canvas for her daughter for a wedding gift!  What an honor!  I must say I was a little nervous... I mean seriously, it was the gift the MOTHER OF THE BRIDE was giving to THE BRIDE!  So I got a lot of details and got to work... Details: They were dancing to You are the Best thing.  She was walking down the aisle to Somewhere Over The Rainbow (how fun is that?) and then I added all of the wedding day details to the calendar.  I absolutely LOVED making this one.  What a sweet, special piece.

I got an email from the mother of the bride and this is the adorable frame she put it in.  The wedding was at a barn in Texas so I thought it was just perfect.
Congratulations Aly and Mike!

Campbell Love Tiffany

A childhood friend of mine had a baby girl a couple of months ago.  I say childhood friend loosly because our families were so much closer than that, more like family.  Heather lived 2 doors down from me and our parents were great friends.  Her dad, "Big Daddy" and my dad used to mow the yards and drink beer on Saturdays (and Sundays) and he would help me with my math homework (and send me home when he got so frustrated because I didn't get it!)  Her mom, Sheryl, is still my walking partner and she is one of the "diddy's " which I will get into at a later post.  "Big Daddy" past away five years ago and left a hole in all of our hearts.  I still think of him on Sundays when my dad is deciding who to bet on in the NFL!
When Heather found out she was having a little girl, they decided to name her Campbell (which is her maiden name) and her middle name is Love.  Don't you just LOVE that?  Here is a little canvas I made for her to put in Bell's nursery.
I ended up adding her birthdate in the blank space.  I loved using the Campbell soup label ;)

Christy Tomlinson Workshop

I had heard about this awesome workshop and I thought I would take it (an online class offered HERE)  I mostly wanted to take it to learn about new products and how to use them on canvas.  I learned THAT and MORE!  She is known for her She Art girls, and they are so cute!  I loved making the girls and I do like that I learned how to do girls like her, but it has been so much more fun finding my own style and my own way of using mixed media art.  I am actually signed up for her second workshop to learn more about great ideas and products.  I think that she is going to teach on doing art on wood... Good thing I already do that so maybe it won't be such a foreign idea!
Here is the first girl I made while taking the class
She is still one of my favorites
